Meet Our Programme Leaders and Consultants
STEVEN is a Speaker, Trainer, Author and a Leadership Coach. Steven brings with him two decades of corporate experience.
Steven is passionate about helping organisations transform their teams into high performing teams. He does that by first helping organisations identify and hire the right people, and then training their leaders and managers on how to manage and lead their people to achieve peak performance consistently.
He is the developer of The CAAP® High Performance Model. This model focuses on Culture (cultural fit), Attitude, Aptitude and Personality dimensions of their employees and job candidates. It is a highly practical, effective and proven approach. Steven believes that for organizations to be truly successful and perform at their highest levels, they need to shift their mind-sets to having the RIGHT people on-board – and not necessarily the best or the brightest.
Steven is the Author of two books:
• “Hiring for Performance: The CAAP® Model to Hiring and Building High-Performance Teams.”
• “The Right Talent: The Agility-Focused Interviewing Approach™ to Hiring the Right Candidate Every Time.”
He is also the developer of The Leadership STYLE Report™ that is based on Dr. Daniel Goleman’s research on leadership styles.
Steven has been featured on MediaCorp’s live radio show The Breakfast Club on 938FM, and has contributed numerous articles to Singapore Business Review, ST Recruit, SHRI Human Capital and other publications. His comments on Team Collaboration was quoted in the Spring 2014 Edition of the Harvard Business Review OnPoint Magazine.
Steven holds a Master of Business (Information Technology) from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. He is a certified DISC & MBTI® (Step I & II) practitioner.
Recently Steven was invited as a guest speaker to share about his CAAP(R) High Performance Model with over 600 delegates at the Vietnam HR Summit 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Louise is an experienced trainer & coach who works across Asia, specialising in leadership development, cross cultural business and communication. She designs & delivers highly engaging, interactive & experiential programmes on Coaching, Presentation Skills, Executive Presence, Influence & Team Development, focusing on collaboration, building relationships and emotional intelligence. She uses her high levels of empathy skills to understand learners needs, to be able to guide them through experiential learning and encourage them to be motivated it their own development. She brings real life case studies from her international business background to her training. Louise has had success in coaching graduates through to c-suites in being more effective and better people managers.
Louise’s career spans two decades, three continents and four countries. Her first profession focusing on strategic business experience in accounting. A qualified Management Accountant, she worked in London for Granada TV, experiencing two major mergers. After relocating to Australia, she worked for the Channel Seven Network, initially for their TV channel in Sydney, then as Senior Financial Accountant of their wholly owned stadium in Melbourne. Her passion for travel and Asia then saw her move to Tokyo, Japan where opportunities allowed her to find her true vocation as a trainer & business coach, predominantly working as a consultant to Investment Banks & Technology companies. She has been based in Singapore for the past 8 years and is a permanent resident.
She qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has an HNC in Business & Finance from De Montford University, Leicester UK. Louise holds an international DISC certification, is certified in 360º feedback and the Kirkpatrick Four Levels of Evaluation (Bronze level). She is ACTA qualified in Singapore.
Louise is also a very active Cub Scout Leader in Singapore, leading more than 20 8-10 year olds every week to learn teamwork, leadership, plus social & environmental awareness.
PEGGY is an experienced Training Consultant who specializes in leadership, management and project management programs. She has been teaching as an Intel University certified facilitator in Influencing and Negotiation Skills, Project Management, Managing People, Career Development, Global Skills, Mentoring and Coaching and many more.
Peggy holds a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Production and Inventory Management Certified (APICS) and Certified Professional Trainer (Aventis School of Management). She holds a Master in Business Administration (2001) from University of South Australia and is currently pursuing her second master in adult education through a Master in Training and Development by Griffith University.
For over 25 years, Peggy was involved in Portfolio, Program and Project Management in Business Process Transformation, Transition Change Management and revolutionary Sales and Marketing capabilities. She managed a team of project managers and business analysts located across the China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia and Singapore.
Other roles she held include On-line Sales Manager for Education, Asia Sales Commission Manager, Asia Channel and Distribution Solutions Manager, Asia B2B Integration Manager, Country Manager, Director for Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
As a senior leader, she is always committed to supporting people and talent development. She has a strong conviction that learning is a lifelong process; training can help to develop skills, knowledge and nurture the attitude needed for career advancement and application knowledge must come with wisdom to be truly effectively.
Peggy has been in the Lions movement since year 2000 contributing to community work that supports elderly and children’s needs. She loves running and practicing yoga. Her philosophy in life is based on Value Creation- that is, to create value in all aspects on her life journey.
PHOON KOK HWA
Phoon Kok Hwa is the first and currently only Professional Action Learning Coach in Asia with the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL) and also the winner of WIAL Coach Excellence Award in 2015. Kok Hwa is a certified trainer for the “Leading With Questions” workshop, a programme developed and licensed by WIAL. He is also the lead facilitator for the “So You Want To Be An Author” workshop, which is a 2-day workshop developed by him to empower aspiring authors to develop their own blueprint for publishing success.
Driven by his higher purpose to serve humanity and to bring the best in others, he wears the hat of a trainer, coach and facilitator when working with organisations for the past 12 years. Kok Hwa has trained and coached Action Learning teams in many organizations in both the public and private sectors to help them solve complex and strategic business challenges, while at the same time developing the individual, team and organisation. He has led and participated in Action Learning Programmes under Microsoft talent and leadership development programmes for MBA hires, High Potentials, and Senior Leaders in both Singapore and Greater China Region.
Other organizations he has trained or coached include Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB), Rohde & Schwarz, Schneider Electric, Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH), SingHealth Academy, People’s Association (PA), etc. As a keen advocate of Action Learning, he was also frequently invited to share his experience and best practices at various Action Learning forums, e.g., WIAL Asia Forum 2013 (Singapore), WIAL Asia Forum 2014 (Taiwan), as well as Action Learning education sessions in organizations such as International Coaching Federation (ICF), Institute of Adult Learning (IAL), etc.
Kok Hwa is also a process facilitator and has helped facilitate visioning workshops, focus group discussions etc, with Ministry of Health (MOH), Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) and Junior Chamber International (JCI).
